Sullivan & Worcester’s Joel Telpner Named ‘Trailblazer’ In National Law Journal’s Inaugural Cryptocurrency, Blockchain and Fintech List
Sullivan & Worcester LLP is pleased to announce that Joel Telpner, a partner in the firm’s New York City office and leader of the Fintech & Blockchain practice group, was named to the National Law Journal’s inaugural Cryptocurrency, Blockchain and Fintech Trailblazer list.
The Trailblazers designation is awarded by NLJ, a leading legal trade publication, to lawyers who have "moved the needle" in terms of leading the way as finance and technology become increasingly entwined.
"Joel Telpner personifies the trailblazer label when it comes to pioneering efforts in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space," said Joel Carpenter, managing partner of Sullivan & Worcester. "He has been at the forefront of the industry for years and continues to help set the agenda for these exciting and dynamic technologies. His insights and professionalism make him a sought-after leader who is clearly deserving of this honor."
Telpner, whose background is in finance and capital markets, pivoted to focus on emerging blockchain and cryptocurrency issues in 2014 as he worked to gain the first issuance of a security on the blockchain for a public company client. Since then, he routinely leads policy initiatives on global regulatory issues for blockchain on behalf of the Global Blockchain Business Council and the Blockchain Research Institute. A popular speaker, Telpner participates in panels worldwide and presented at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
"We’re just beginning to understand the breadth of impact that blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies will have in business. It’s exciting to be at the leading edge as the industry moves from its infancy," Telpner said. "I am grateful for the recognition by the National Law Journal and thrilled to play a part in the future of this revolutionary technology."
