The Research and Reference Librarian provides research and reference training, services, and assistance to attorneys, paralegals and support staff. The incumbent works closely with the library director to ensure that the firm’s research resources are aligned with the firm’s needs and goals.

Business Development Analyst - Boston

The firm is currently looking to hire a Business Development Analyst. The position is designed for a recent college graduate who aspires to, but may be undecided about, attending graduate school in law or business. It is designed as a two-year position, (with the possibility for a one year extension), where the candidate will gain valuable experience in the business of the law firm by working within the business development and marketing functions of the firm. The new Business Development Analyst will be the third individual to hold the position since it was created, with both the initial and current holders of the position choosing to attend law school. 

The Business Development Analyst will work directly with the firm’s Business Development Partner, Marketing team, and practice groups and can expect to utilize a broad range of skills to assist the firm and its clients. The Business Development Analyst will assist the firm’s Business Development Partner with business development analysis and research and draft client and prospect reports. The Business Development Analyst may interact directly with the firm’s clients on projects. The position offers a recent college graduate the opportunity to engage in challenging and interesting work in a fast-paced environment across a wide range of legal disciplines. The Business Development Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following activities:

  1. Manage Business Development Partner’s contacts, prospect list and calendar. Handle calendar reminders, follow ups, meetings, and corporate social events
  2. Maintain and conduct analysis on Business Development Partner’s revenue dashboard reports
  3. Research and build dossiers for the Business Development Partner and practice group’s clients/prospects
  4. Regularly modify and update prospect lists based on ongoing internal and external research
  5. Assist Marketing Group with firm website and internal newsletter writing and editing
  6. Write and edit submissions to legal rankings publications, such as Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500
  7. Coordinate and streamline communications, social media messaging and marketing initiatives between Business Development Partner and Marketing Group
  8. Assist Business Development Partner, Marketing Group and practice groups with promoting client-facing events and initiatives within the firm

Required Skills:

Must be able to demonstrate a highly successful college career and have Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel. Relational database experience a plus.

Floater Legal Secretary - Boston

Sullivan & Worcester has an opening for a floater legal secretary. The Floater Legal Secretary provides interim coverage for legal secretaries to provide continual and reliable support to the attorneys and the firm. Assignments may be short-term for just the day, or for several days at a time.
