We undertake federal, state and local litigation and administrative controversies involving real estate leasing and acquisition, financing, environmental, zoning and land use issues. Our nationwide practice involving real estate contract disputes includes issues involved in bankruptcy proceedings on behalf of businesses, trusts and high net worth individuals. 

Representative Client Work

• Represented developers and landowners in disputes over tidelands jurisdiction, boundaries of wetland resource areas, application of the public trust doctrine and Chapter 91 license proceedings
• Defended environmental and Superfund claims against manufacturers, including one action terminated with no fine or penalty against a well-known manufacturer of specialty consumer products, arising out of more than 100 years of manufacturing activities on the Boston waterfront
• Resolved zoning, zoning enforcement, title, easements and easements by prescription, adverse possession and other land and land use disputes throughout Eastern and Central Massachusetts, including Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket
• Advocated for clients in local and state administrative processes, including historic district commission, conservation commission, property tax assessment, abatement, zoning board and planning board approvals and appeals
• Resolved family disputes involving real estate, including ownership by family limited partnerships and other entities
