Julie A. Weisman is an environmental attorney with almost 25 years of experience and is located in our Washington, D.C. office. Ms. Weisman has an extensive environmental practice, which currently revolves around climate change issues, alternative and renewable energy sources, green building, as well as assisting clients on environmental issues that arise in commercial transactions. In that respect, she has represented buyers, sellers, borrowers, lenders, operators and investors in commercial negotiations worldwide and frequently has been involved in issues pertaining to carbon credits, green building, permitting and the remediation of contamination associated with such transactions. After attending Duke University and Emory University School of Law, she entered the Honors Program at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Lands and Natural Resources Division and served as a trial attorney there until 1986. She has been in private practice since 1987. As a result of this background, Ms. Weisman has broad experience in environmental matters, as well as particular strengths assisting clients in transactions related to carbon credits, the development of power plants and other energy-related projects and green building and green products. Finally, she recently has focused on exposure issues, particularly related to the presence of heavy metals, asbestos and mold. Representative Client Work
