Paul C. Oakley is a partner in the Corporate Department of our Boston office and a member of the firm’s Venture Capital/Emerging Companies Group and Private Equity/M&A Group. He represents emerging growth companies in a range of industries including software, telecommunications, information technology, life sciences and medical devices, as well as and mid- and low-technology enterprises. He also represents venture firms, private equity firms and other investors in fund formation and portfolio company investment matters. Mr. Oakley’s practice involves domestic and international acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, corporate partnering, technology licensing, equity-based compensation strategies, corporate restructuring, securities and general corporate representation.

Representative Client Work

  • Represented issuers or investors in more than 80 venture financing transactions in which approximately $1.5 billion was raised
  • Represented client in numerous M&A transactions valued at more than $1.5 billion
  • Assisted non-U.S. start-ups in migration of operations to the U.S. and in related financing transactions
  • Represented private equity sponsor in multiple M&A transactions for various portfolio companies
  • Assisted major financial services firm in strategic venture investments of more than $225 million in international telecommunications companies
