Mark L. Levine, a partner in the Banking Group of the Corporate Department of the New York office from 1988-2000, is now retired of counsel. His practice concentrated in the area of transactional banking and secured lending for foreign banks, including leveraged buy-out financing and project finance. He also represented corporate and banking clients on acquisitions and other corporate matters, as well as on contractual and start-up matters relating to the Internet and distance education. Prior to his return to the firm in Spring 2001, Mr. Levine was General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer at Allen Technology, Inc. (Global Education Network), a new venture putting undergraduate liberal arts courses on the internet in conjunction with leading U.S. colleges and their faculty.
