Karen M. Kozlowski

Partner

Karen M. Kozlowski is a partner in the Real Estate Department of our New York office. Her practice is focused in the areas of real estate financing, leasing, loan restructurings and workouts, acquisition/sales and lending and loan portfolio note sales and purchases. Her clients include finance companies, local, national and international institutional lenders, developers and other institutional investors. She concentrates her practice in the structuring, negotiating and closing of financial transactions in various areas including mortgage loans, terms loans, revolving loans, working capital and acquisition lines of credit, loan participations and domestic and international syndicated loan transactions. Recently, she has focused on advising institutional clients and investors in connection with the due diligence required in large loan portfolio purchases. Ms. Kozlowski served as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, New Jersey, from 1996-1998.

Representative Client Work

  • Represented the lead lender in the $420 million acquisition financing of nine shopping centers located in New Hampshire and Massachusetts
  • Represented the lender in closing a $100 million permanent mortgage loan on a $10 million equity bridge loan and a $15 million mezzanine loan for a mixed-use property in New York
  • Represented the purchaser in connection with the due diligence review of a $1.4 billion loan portfolio purchase
  • Represented the lender in the financing of a $50 million mortgage and construction loan note purchase secured by property in New York
  • Represented the lender in a $35 million hotel acquisition financing on a ground lease property
  • Represented the lender in a number of acquisition, construction, mezzanine and project loans ranging in size from $3 million to $30 million
