The Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008, which is part of the recently enacted Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (better known as the Congressional Bailout Bill ), extends certain tax credits and bond financing mechanisms, and creates new tax credits and incentives for renewable energy facilities, energy efficiency and conservation measures, and industrial carbon mitigation activities.
