Amy E. Sheridan spoke on a panel discussion moderated by Kevin M. Colmey titled "The Importance of Employment and Non-Competition Agreements in a Family Business," conducted by the Family Business Association on May 5, 2015. This program covered the need for family businesses to craft strong employment and noncompetition agreements. Presenters shared accounts of business tragedies that could have been avoided, and triumphs that were due in large part to the presence of strong agreements. Other topics included which elements of an employment agreement are especially important when dealing with family members, and how to broach the subject of legal agreements with skeptical relatives.
