Employment and Benefits Basics for Startup Companies
Our fourth workshop, “Employment and Benefits Basics for Startup Companies,” was led by David Guadagnoli, Ilene Robinson Sunshine and Amy Sheridan, partners at Sullivan & Worcester. This presentation offered practical guidance on critical benefits and employment law issues for start-ups. On the benefits side, we discussed elements of competitive compensation and benefits packages and provided a primer on equity compensation arrangements. On the employment side, we discussed how to protect the company’s intellectual property and customer goodwill through the use and timing of confidentiality, non-solicitation and non-competition agreements.
