The Evolving Importance of Water
Wharton Club's Green Business Roundtable
Jerome Muys Jr. discussed "The Evolving Importance of Water" at the Wharton Club's Green Business Roundtable.
With increasing demand for water, and greater uncertainty in its availability, businesses may no longer assume that secure, long-time water supplies will be available. Thus, business investors must adopt due diligence and risk assessment protocols with regard to long-term water availability as part of their investment strategy.
The issues surrounding water that Mr. Muys addressed included:
- The need for significant water infrastructure investment with diminishing financial resources
- Water markets, conservation pricing and water rights trading
- Changing laws and regulations
- Innovation and technological solutions
