Cross-Border Acquisitions and Sale of Real Estate
Sullivan & Worcester and Murray Hill Properties presented this Luncheon Seminar, which was the second in a series dealing with important U.S. issues in cross-border real estate transactions. The program focused on business and legal aspects of cross-border sales and purchases of commercial real estate in the New York and U.S. markets. Cross-border differences in contracting, pricing and valuation were highlighted. Common problems and approaches were explored and discussed, including broker compensation issues, effective negotiation strategies and planning to minimize the potentially adverse U.S. federal income, estate and gift tax rules.
