Sullivan & Worcester Announces 2018 Partners
Boston, MA (January 8, 2018) – International law firm Sullivan & Worcester LLP today announced that three associates and one counsel have been promoted to partner.

The new partners as of January 1, 2018 are:
Brian Hammell (Boston) is a partner in the firm’s Tax Department. Brian has experience advising publicly traded and closely held business entities, including real estate investment trusts, in multiple areas including issues related to mergers and acquisitions, business reorganizations, secured lending, debtor and creditor rights, and other commercial transactions and disputes. Brian earned his Master of Laws degree in Taxation from Boston University School of Law and his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School. He is an Executive Advisory Board Member of the Notre Dame Law Association and a member of the Notre Dame Club of Boston.
Jeffrey Morlend (Boston) is a partner in the Corporate Department where he advises public and private clients with a focus on securities law compliance, financing transactions and private equity investments. He counsels real estate investment trusts and other domestic and international companies in public equity and debt offerings and general disclosure matters, represents companies and financial institutions in secured and unsecured credit facilities, including large syndicated facilities and single-lender financings, and advises sponsors and institutional investors in the formation of and investment in private investment funds. Jeff earned his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and is a former Board member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division, and legal writing instructor at Boston University School of Law.
Daniel Ryan (Boston) is a partner in the Tax Department where his focus is on representing taxpayers in federal and state tax litigation and controversies as well as transactional planning involving corporate, franchise, personal income and sales/use tax matters. Previously Dan was an attorney at the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel, where he represented the Internal Revenue Service in litigation before the United States Tax Court and served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts. He earned his Master of Laws in Taxation from Boston University School of Law and his J.D. from Catholic University, Columbus School of Law.
Douglas Schneidman (New York City) is a partner in the Trusts & Estates Group. He represents individuals, family businesses, and banks and trust companies in trust and estate matters. His practice includes estate planning for high-net-worth individuals, formation and administration of charitable foundations, and all aspects of estate and trust administration. Doug also handles probate and other Surrogate's Court matters, including estate litigation. He received his Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law and his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law.
