Long-Shot Carbon Tax Plan Aims For Policy Consensus

February 8, 2017

Elias Hinckley was quoted in the article, "Long-Shot Carbon Tax Plan Aims for Policy Consensus," which was published by Law360 [sub. req.] on February 8, 2017. The article discusses a recent plan offered by some prominent conservatives suggesting a national carbon tax be imposed to offset a rollback of climate change legislation and some of the EPAs regulatory authority over greenhouse gas emissions.

Specifically, Mr. Hinkley notes that "[t]his should fundamentally match exactly with what a true conservative ideology is, but because it's attached to climate change, which remains a political third rail on the right, I don't see how it gets pulled into this discussion in a meaningful way."
