Sullivan & Worcester Adds Distinguished International Water Law Attorney to Environment and Water Resources Practices

Washington, D.C. – December 1, 2011 – Sullivan & Worcester LLP is pleased to announce that Gabriel E. Eckstein, a highly regarded practitioner and academic in the fields of water and environmental law and policy both in the U.S. and internationally, has joined the firm as of counsel in the Environment & Natural Resources and Water Resources Development Groups.

At Sullivan & Worcester, Professor Eckstein will advise clients in matters related to the management and allocation of fresh water resources as well as provide counsel on water-related legal and policy issues. He also will represent clients in disputes involving the availability, use and quality of water resources, and further will assist clients in pursuing opportunities involving water conservation and related renewable energy technologies.

Professor Eckstein serves as professor of law specializing in water, environmental, natural resources and international law at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in Fort Worth, TX. In addition, he is CEO of International H2O Solutions, an international consultancy focusing on legal, policy and management issues related to global and transboundary fresh water resources, and is director of the International Water Law Project.

Previously, Professor Eckstein worked as senior counsel for CropLife America, an agrochemicals industry trade association; prior to that, he was a litigator in private practice working on environmental, toxic tort and asbestos cases. He holds both a J.D. and an LL.M. degree from American University’s Washington College of Law, a M.S. in International Affairs from Florida State University and a B.S. in Geology from Kent State University.
