Sullivan & Worcester Adds New Partner to the New York Corporate GroupS&W Press Release, June 25, 2009New York, NY – June 25, 2009 – Sullivan & Worcester LLP is pleased to announce that James R. Silkenat has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in the Corporate Group. Mr. Silkenat, who chairs the New York Delegation in the ABA House of Delegates, has substantive industry experience in energy, hotels, manufacturing, transportation and telecommunications. His primary focus is on international joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, project finance transactions (in developed and developing countries) and private equity investment funds. George Lindsay, managing partner of Sullivan & Worcester’s New York office, says that “Jim brings an impressive depth of international experience and national and international visibility to the firm, which will further enhance our cross-border transactional capabilities.” Mr. Silkenat is a former chair of the American Bar Association’s Section of International Law and currently chairs the ABA’s World Justice Project. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and of the American Law Institute, has served as a fellow in the U.S. State Department Scholar/Diplomat Program, and was a fellow of the National Endowment for the Humanities. He is also a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and has served as national chair of the Fellows. In 2000, he received the Outstanding Alumni Award for Career Achievement from Drury University, and in 2007 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award of the ABA Section of International Law.
