Sullivan & Worcester Announces New Partners

Additions enhance firm’s corporate, litigation and intellectual property practices

January 8, 2008, Boston, MA – Sullivan & Worcester LLP announced today the admission of four new attorneys to the partnership, bolstering the firm’s corporate, litigation and intellectual property practices. "We are proud to welcome these four excellent attorneys to Sullivan & Worcester’s partnership," commented co-managing partner, William J. Curry. “They have each made outstanding contributions to the firm, and we see a great future for them at the firm as partners.” The new partners include:

Jeffrey E. Francis, Litigation, Boston
Mr. Francis represents clients in a broad range of complex commercial and financial litigation, including matters involving technology, intellectual property (trademark, copyright, trade secret and patent), large loss fires and other catastrophes, complex corporate and financial transactions, commercial leases, bankruptcy (creditors’ rights and adversary proceedings), corporate governance and complex commercial contracts. Mr. Francis has tried and argued cases in courts and before arbitral tribunals across the United States. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Providence College.

Kimberly B. Herman, Intellectual Property and Corporate, Boston
Ms. Herman’s practice emphasizes the law and business of intellectual property with a particular focus on structuring and negotiating complex commercial agreements dealing with software, life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, new media, the Internet, publishing and entertainment as well as patent, trademark and copyright matters on behalf of leading high technology, financial services, venture capital, banking, start-up and emerging companies. She received a J.D. from Western New England College School of Law and a B.A., cum laude, from Northeastern University.

Lewis N. Segall, Corporate, Boston
Mr. Segall’s practice focuses on corporate transactions for public and private companies in a variety of industries. He regularly handles domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings and joint ventures. He also represents clients in connection with general business related matters, including corporate governance, licensing and other commercial arrangements. He received a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law and a B.S. from Syracuse University.

Walter VanBuskirk, Corporate, Boston
Mr. VanBuskirk’s practice focuses on the representation of companies at all stages of development, from startups to public companies, in corporate and securities law. He represents clients in mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings, joint ventures, and general business and finance matters. He received a J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School, an M.B.A. from Boston College Carroll School of Management, and a B.S., magna cum laude, from Bentley College.
