Diversity

We recruit with an eye toward diversity at Sullivan & Worcester, not because it's the politically correct thing to do, but because we believe that the presence of diverse cultures and experiences strengthens and enriches our practice.

  • Our Diversity Committee creates and implements initiatives to encourage a balance of race, ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender, age and physical ability within our firm.
  • Our Mentoring Program, available to all associates, helps ensure that we retain our best minority lawyers and help them find fulfillment and success at the firm.

In addition, Sullivan & Worcester is an active participant in a number of organizations committed to diversity issues. They include:

  • The Boston Lawyers Group. A consortium of over 30 legal organizations in the City of Boston committed to the recruitment and retention of lawyers of color. The Boston Lawyers Group's leadership team currently maintains their offices at S&W's Boston headquarters.
  • The Partnership. An organization formed in 1987 in response to racial tensions and under-representation of people of color in Boston's civic infrastructure. The Partnership has a portfolio of programs and services designed to strengthen Boston's capacity to attract, retain and develop talented professionals of color.
  • Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD). New England's leading legal rights organization dedicated to ending discrimination based on sexual orientation, HIV status and gender identity and expression, established in 1978.
