Our summer program gives associates a realistic sense of the working environment they'll experience and the people they'll work with as full-time attorneys. Each associate is provided with a second or third-year associate to help ease the transition from law school to law firm and offer guidance and feedback. We make sure that our summer associates get to choose assignments from all practice areas of the firm, so they have the opportunity to explore their interests — and sometimes discover hidden talents along the way. We do our best to provide a mix of practical and analytical projects, as well as opportunities to participate in closings, drafting sessions, depositions and other "hands-on" activities. But the summer isn't all about business. There's plenty of time for summer associates to get to know their future colleagues in more relaxed settings, too. Past summer social events have included Red Sox games, hiking in New Hampshire, barbeques, F1 go-cart racing, bocce ball, and spontaneous after-work outings. And, of course, the highlight of every summer: beating the partners at softball!
