China

It's no secret that the world's fastest growing economy offers ever-expanding opportunities for U.S. businesses to expand abroad and for Chinese businesses to gain a foothold in the U.S. The trick is to have the right people in the right place at the right time.

Through our joint venture, ZAG/S&W, Sullivan & Worcester is well–positioned to help clients fulfill their ambitions for expansion in China. ZAG has formed ties with LCA Lega Colucci e Associate - Studio Legale, a law firm serving clients through its headquarters in Beijing, a satellite office in Shanghai and correspondents in Hong Kong and other major Chinese cities.

However, we know it is not enough for our clients to have support on the ground in China  — we work with them to evaluate their entry into the Chinese market or how  to restructure their presence there. We continually build our understanding of the business and legal environment there in order to best serve our clients' Chinese interests.

For many years we have serviced Chinese-headquartered clients doing business in the US and U.S. clients consummating deals in China. We have sent teams to China to learn about the market, the legal systems and the array of rapidly increasing opportunities in this market. The China-based team is made up of Chinese lawyers with an international background and foreign lawyers with over 10 years of experience in the Chinese market and its legal system. Lawyers on the China team speak fluently in Italian, English, French and Mandarin Chinese. The team offers broad experience in business, investment and intellectual property law of the People's Republic of China and can assist industrial and financial clients with an interest in establishing themselves in this market or restructuring their existing presence.

Through the wide network of relationships established with Chinese authorities at various levels, the China team can provide direct assistance with local authorities and government to help get our clients' deals done as efficiently as possible and at the highest possible level of legal service.
